George Herbert Mead

Notes

The concept of the social self goes all the way back to the 1930s…
Mead says, “the self has two components, a me comprised of the attitudes and meanings we perceive others to hold of us, and an impulsive I that makes sense of the me”. Wow. Clever man. When we ask people to tell us their stories, we would do well to understand this analysis.
